47 years of experience in public education with 25 years as an administrator (2 large urban high schools in St. Vital and a high school in Baden-Baden, Germany). Also, 10 of those 25 years as principal in three large k-12 schools.
Recipient of the Dean Brown Award for outstanding contribution to teacher education in Manitoba (2009)-University of Manitoba – Faculty of Education
Presently Elected School Trustee- Louis Riel School Division since 2003
Recognized leader and innovator in school programming (Initiating Fine Arts Program at Glenlawn Collegiate, and International Overseas program and Honours program at Dakota Collegiate)
Coached every level of basketball from grade 6 to university (U of Manitoba and U of Winnipeg) - with several championship teams and also founder of the John Taylor Piper Classic (oldest high school basketball tournament in Winnipeg)
Community leadership on a variety of charitable boards in Winnipeg, (United Way Cabinet, Jocelyn House Hospice, Rainbow Society for Children Living with Life Threatening Conditions, and the Engineers and Geo-Scientists of Manitoba, Wyatt House)
Past Board member of Manitoba High School Athletic Association, Manitoba Association of Principals, and Manitoba School Board Association
Past Executive Director of the Manitoba Council for Leadership in Education (2000 to 2004) --presented Principal Certification and Professional Development Workshops for the training of school principals, superintendents and school trustees in Manitoba.
C.E.O. of Diversified Global Education Services (since 1995) --an Overseas Teacher Recruitment company that places teachers in private schools in Europe, South America, and Asia. Have successfully placed over two hundred teachers in these locations. Introduced first English Immersion Program for Thai Students at Lertlah School, Bangkok, Thailand (the school is recognized as the leader in English Immersion in Thailand and has developed from one building to three campuses with four buildings since its inception in 1994)
Sectional Instructor at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Education for both undergraduate and post-graduate students.
Chair and organizer of numerous provincial and national conferences (e.g. Asia Pacific Conference for the Asia Pacific Foundation)
Introduced practicum in an overseas environment for student teachers at both the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg.
